I never grew up wanting to be an artist...my life was sport from the get-go and my parents backed me no matter what decisions I made as long as I was happy.
I graduated with honours from the University of Guelph in the field of Studio Art, with a minor degree in Art History. While studying, I was an athlete for the varsity Rugby team and thus my world of art and sport began to collide.
During my university years my father fell ill and eventually passed after a long battle with cancer. I dedicated much of my artwork to him, and I always play sport knowing that is where I am closest to him.
After graduating, I spent a couple years in the Faux Finishing business while dabbling in artwork in my spare time. AFL found me there, a small league that sparked a new passion that moved me to Australia to up my skill in the sport.
After being drafted to Collingwood FC in the inaugural AFL Women's competition, I sustained an injury that would see me out of sport for a year. Deciding to make the best of my situation, I used the extra time on hand to delve deeper into the arts, and I have dedicated my current Athlete Series of paintings to the AFL and the athletes that work so hard to be a part of it.
Currently, I am playing my second season at Essendon VFLW and still love what I do every day.
